ROGERSON, Samuel John (John) – Peacefully, at home in his sleep, with his beloved Grace by his side. On Friday, 28 February 2025, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of almost 53 wonderful years to Grace, dearly loved and admired father and father-in-law of Rawiri (John) and Wendy, Tamati, Aroha and Scott and adored koro of Grace (jnr). Loved eldest son of the late Robert Cuthbert Rogerson and the late Eva Mary Sizemore both of Pukerau. Thanks to the RDNS staff for the diligent care given to John over the last few years and making his stay at home possible, and to the Hellier family for backing us up when needed, friends to Dad and us for so many years, thank you! A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Calvin Community Church, 25 Robertson Street, Gore on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, at 1.30pm. Light refreshments to follow, followed by interment at Pukerau Cemetery. Livestream link is available at www.southernfuneralhome.co.nz . Donations may be left at the service for Hokonui St John Ambulance. John will be lying in state at the Hokonui Runanga from Monday, 3 March, until the service for those wishing to pay their respects.
